The Homowo Festival is a harvest festival that commemorates the Ga people’s migration and survival through a period of famine in their history. The festival involves various rituals, dances, and ceremonies. One of the key features of the festival is the preparation and consumption of “kpekple,” a special dish made from maize and palm nut soup.
